Privacy at OniDL

Updated 29 October 2026. This page describes the current OniDL Free Windows preview and this website.

Your video links and files

The Windows app sends your chosen link to the source website to retrieve the media. Downloading and conversion run on your own computer. OniDL does not operate a video server or relay, and the app does not upload your links or saved files to OniDL.

The source website and its media providers receive normal requests, including your IP address and information needed to serve the content. Their own privacy policies apply.

What stays on your computer

Saved media goes into the folder you choose. Local settings keep your chosen destination and your completed-download count for the current day. Prepared download tools are cached locally. The app does not keep a link-history database, import browser cookies, or ask for an OniDL account or wallet.

The app has no advertising or analytics SDK. It does not send usage analytics to OniDL. Information shown while processing a download, such as the title and progress, is used locally.

Preparing download tools

On first use, your computer downloads pinned, checksum-verified yt-dlp, Deno and FFmpeg tools directly from their publishers' official GitHub release assets. Those services receive ordinary download requests, including your IP address. These tools perform the local downloading and conversion described in the app.

This website and installation services

Cloudflare hosts onidl.com and receives the normal network information needed to deliver and protect the website and downloads. The site does not include an OniDL advertising or analytics script. Cloudflare may process request information under its own privacy policy.

If you use a Microsoft Store installation or Microsoft-provided installer, Microsoft handles that installation, account information where applicable, and updates under its own privacy terms. The current unsigned portable preview is a separate download; Store availability is not claimed until approval.

Removing local information

Your saved videos and audio remain in your chosen folder until you remove them. You can remove the portable app and its local tool/settings folder at %LOCALAPPDATA%\OniDL. A Store-packaged app can be removed through Windows' normal app uninstall controls. Removing an app does not automatically remove media in your Downloads folder.
